"The
Boogle Stump"
A
boogle is a sort of mushroom ........
but
it is no ordinary sort of mushroom.
As fast as boogles grow, their heads
are eaten off by Snapperclogs .....so only
the stump remains.
And
when the head of a boogle is eaten off,
the stump turns to stone .....like a fossil.
But
it is a very special kind of stone.
It is alive, very sensitive and very wise.
And it sends patters of love into the Earth
where Fig cannot reach.
......
yet only when it is perched upon weasily.
But
the boogle stump is always asleep ......
and if the boogle stump is woken up, it turns
back into a headless mushroom,
withers, and dies.
